Website owners should understand that songs, recordings, lyrics, photographs and artwork can all be protected by copyright. Finding a file online does not automatically give permission to republish it.

Check whether you own the work or have a licence or permission that covers your intended use. Keep relevant records where possible.
Safer content
Original articles, original recordings, properly licensed media and links to official sources are better foundations for a music website than copied downloads.
